What’s New at Everdome? The Metaverse Reviews the Latest Major Upgrades

TL;DR

  • Major Upgrades: Everdome has introduced several enhancements including a new 8th floor with brand spaces, a furnished Mars Theater, and improved chat and navigation functionalities.
  • Mars Theater Experience: The Mars Theater now features realistic cinema-watching animations, video synchronization for multiple users, and improved technical aspects like color and lighting for an immersive experience.
  • User Interaction and Continuity: Technical improvements have been made to optimize rendering performance and a new save system allows users to resume their experience without losing progress. A stand for special spaces is also in development to enhance community engagement.

May was a bustling month for the Everdome team, marked by the unveiling of the new 8th Floor & the Mars Theater, and the ongoing development of new features, functionalities, and enhancements to their digital space.

After April’s emphasis on in-experience development, May saw the launch of several updates and improvements at Everdome. Among the completed tasks were making chat history visible, further elevator fixes inside Everdome HQ, opening and decorating the 8th floor, furnishing Mars Theater, and improving the life-like experience in the Mars Theater.

The team added colorful “boxes” on the 8th floor to highlight places where brand spaces will take place. They also designed the Theater doors to create a “special” entrance, different from that of the regular spaces, making navigation through the floor even easier. The doors to the Theater indicate if there is a show playing by changing the way they glow.

Enhancing the Cinematic Experience in Everdome’s Mars Theater

In the Mars Theater, two large screens for video were installed to display Everdome content and trailers. To achieve the most realistic experience of watching cinema, seating animations were added, with avatars able to sit from both sides of the audience by pressing “E.”

Video synchronization for multiplayer was implemented to let different users watch the same moment of video at the same time – just like in real life. Technical aspects of Everdome’s Metaverse Theater were also improved. Colors and lighting were enhanced for a more pleasant experience on both Mac and Windows platforms.

Avatars’ movement in the Theater was locked to prevent chaotic jumping and running during film presentations. Missing collisions were added to the Theater environment to avoid users’ random jumping through the wall.

A new feature was implemented to let users see who is talking – functioning across the whole Everdome experience. This feature is launched automatically after users press “V” to chat. The team also worked further on ‘attenuation’ features, meaning that only avatars that are close enough will be able to hear each other – making the cinematic experience for other users more pleasant and undisturbed.

Technical and Social Features: Elevating User Interaction

Rendering performance was improved by limiting video and sound effects only to areas where users can actually notice them. A save system was implemented so users don’t have to worry about losing their points in case of leaving the Theater. They can now resume their experience from where they left off.

In progress is a stand with “special” spaces, planned to be released in June and placed in the heart of Everdome HQ. This implementation will be designed to highlight specifically chosen spaces and organize community-praising competitions.

Everdome is a metaverse that aims to immerse the user in a unique virtual experience with the most realistic graphics possible, to stay ahead of the competition. The native token of the platform is Everdome (DOME).

The team appreciates your feedback and timely reports, allowing them to grow and build Everdome’s future with your support. Thanks for being part of the journey – where we imagine a truly different metaverse together.
